Challenge and the College Recruiting Process

Challenge is recognized nationally by college coaches and club coaches around the country for the development of female soccer players and the assistance and guidance they provide their players in the recruiting process.  Challenge was ahead of the curve in developing recruiting events like the Texas Shootout and the Final IV to showcase players.  The individual attention and guidance we provide our players throughout this process is unparalleled.  Recognizing that each player has different goals and objectives both academically and athletically, the Challenge staff provides advice and direction that is specifically tailored to each player needs.  No club in Houston and not many in the country can match the 700+ alumni Challenge has that have moved on to the college game. 

The Challenge College Placement Program is second to none in the Houston area as our contacts extend across the country and throughout all levels of college soccer. With over 25 years of placing players in nationally recognized Division 1, 2, and 3 college programs, our reputation amongst college coaching circles is unmatched and our voice is heavily trusted. With a vast range of experiences in both collegiate coaching and coordinating collegiate recruiting efforts, Challenge coaches are well versed in the recruiting process and all NCAA rules, regulations, and restrictions. Our staff is committed to assisting all of our athletes, at all levels, navigate through the sometimes complex and overwhelming recruiting process.

College Showcases and the Texas Shootout

Each year Challenge commits to sending our senior age teams (U15+), of all levels, to some of the most respected and recognized college showcases around not just Texas, but across the country. We know that the college process can be difficult and by giving our players multiple chances to perform at highly attended showcase events, we put them in the best position to be seen by the schools of their choice, on multiple occasions.

In addition to hosting (in conjunction with the Women’s Division 1 NCAA College Cup) the prestigious Final 4 Showcase three times, for over 25 years Challenge has hosted the Texas Shootout, regarded as one of the ELITE showcase events in the nation. The event draws over 300 teams to Burroughs and Meyer Park each year, as well as OVER 200 college coaches from NCAA Division 1, 2, and 3 schools.
